Well, can you believe it, we are in the week of mid-unit review already and it barely seems a moment since we came back in September as second year students.
Last year, I spent a lot of time on figurative work and especially life-drawing and work related to the body. Whilst I still love this, I have been excited and invigorated by my experiments with colour and mark-making, enjoying the experience of never quite knowing where I am going but to explore how the painting itself unfolds.
This week I have been looking at the work of artists Per Kirkeby and Ivon Hitchens and their connection to the landscape, a theme I wish to explore myself with some outdoor drawing this week. Hopefully the weather will be kind to me!
