I've been a little distracted over the last couple of weeks..
Yes, the moment came (and went) when I hit my half century. Joint celebrations took place in London with my nephew (who hit the big 40 on the same day) overlooking the city's stunning skyline from the sophisticated but charming restaurant next to Shakespeare's Globe theatre on the banks of the Thames.
Needless to say, many of my gifts were art related and my library has been boosted with lots of lovely reading material on artists and developing good creative habits. A couple of my favourites are 'Conscious Creativity' by Philippa Stanton and 'Hashtag Authentic' by Sara Tasker. Both are beautifully illustrated with carefully composed and enchanting photographs which encourage connection with your surroundings and, in consequence, improving observation skills, which for an artist, can only be a good thing.
Heading into the busy Christmas period, I would encourage you to take a look at a library copy, or to buy your own..and during the holidays, to enjoy some quiet downtime reading and responding ready for new eyes in 2020.
